Varuna-Mitra enables the utility engineer to perform predictive water management by providing the following key functionality

2. Perform Analysis (Volumetric and flow) for abnormal situations

Varuna-Mitra enables the Utility Engineer to perform analysis to understand the current watershed and water body situation. Varuna-Mitra also enables the utility engineer in identifying the reasons for this situation. Utility engineer can perform the volumetric analysis for a water body and flow analysis for the watershed.
The Utility Engineer views the volume data of water body while monitoring the watershed status. To find out if volume is as expected, the engineer triggers volumetric analysis. Alternatively, Engineer views a volumetric alert due to an abnormality and triggers volumetric analysis. Engineer can perform volumetric analysis based on specified precipitation date, precipitation duration or from a defined baseline.
Similarly, The Utility Engineer views the flow data of watershed while monitoring watershed status. To find out if the flows are as expected, the engineer triggers flow analysis. Alternatively, Engineer views the flow alert due to an abnormal scenario and triggers flow analysis. Engineer can perform flow analysis based on specified precipitation date, precipitation duration or from a defined baseline.
In this volumetric and Flow analysis, data from field is compared against the data from hydro model (Varuna-Mitra Hydro Model). The actual data and model are also compared against the Best Case Scenario for the watershed and also selected what-if scenario.
This analysis helps the engineer to understand the current situation and helps in identifying the reasons for this situation in watershed and water bodies. Utility engineer compares the data from following sources to arrive at conclusions.
1. Actual - Data from In-Situ sensors
2. Predicted - Data from Varuna Mitra Hydro model
3. What-if - Data from What-if model
4. Best Case - Data from No land use scenario
